IFS Food gives you confidence in safe production, full traceability and stable batch quality.

What IFS Food actually is

Independent audit, measurable rules, continuous improvement

IFS Food is a globally recognised standard for food safety and quality. It is a system that protects your brand as much as the end consumer — from raw material to dispatch. International Featured Standards (IFS) for food define how a manufacturer must manage food safety, quality and customer responsibility. Certification is carried out by an independent certification body and includes annual surveillance audits and a deeper recertification in a longer cycle — the result is not a “certificate on the wall” but a verified snapshot of processes at a given time.

The standard covers the whole certified chain: from raw material intake, storage and production through to packing and release of the finished batch. Assessment is risk-weighted — a failure in a critical area means the standard is not met. That is why retail and professional buyers often require IFS as proof that your product will not create reputational or legal risk.

Six pillars auditors scrutinise in depth

In short: it is not only about a “clean hall” but a managed system — policies, records, measurements and the ability to react to deviations.

Quality management and leadership responsibility

Leadership must define quality and food safety policy, objectives, resources and risk awareness. The audit verifies that requirements are not merely declared but reflected in everyday decision-making.

Hygiene, production environment and premises

From line layout and zoning (clean/dirty flows) to maintenance and cleaning plans — the environment must minimise contamination risk and support repeatable production.

HACCP and food safety management

Hazard analysis, critical control points, limits and corrective actions must be documented and challenged. It is a living system that evolves with formulation and technology changes.

Supplier management and incoming goods control

Raw materials are risk-rated, suppliers assessed and incoming goods checked so that substandard or unsafe inputs never enter production — the foundation of traceability and stability.

Traceability, identification and recall readiness

It must be clear which raw batch went into which product batch and where it is — including the ability to react quickly if a problem is suspected. For your brand this is crisis insurance.

Measurements, analyses, internal audits and improvement

Validation of cleaning, planned microbiology, internal audits and corrective actions — the standard expects deviations to be closed systematically, not ad hoc. That is how quality culture improves every year.

What certification gives your brand

It is not a cosmetic label — it is trust from retail, distributors and end customers. Typical benefits of working with a certified manufacturer:

Stronger B2B negotiation position

IFS is often one of the entry gates for listing with major retail chains.

Lower incident risk

The system is designed to prevent contamination, quality failures and documentation chaos.

Transparent communication

You know that manufacturing processes are managed, measured and repeatable, not dependent on the “shift of the day”.

Faster response to customer audits

You work with a partner who understands what retail audits are really looking for.

Certification as daily discipline

At REVI plus, we treat IFS as a daily standard of work, not a one-off project.

Continuous process improvement

Internal checks, training, calibration, regulatory updates and new raw materials are reflected in ongoing process adjustments.
